European Centre for International Political Economy (ECIPE)

We collaborate with the leading Brussels-based think tank European Centre for International Political Economy (ECIPE) on analyses evaluating the impact of European digital policy on consumers.

We have looked, for example, at:

  • Whether the Digital Markets Act, two years after coming into force, has genuinely improved the user experience online.
  • How consumers view the way internet search engines display results to them.
  • How the upcoming Digital Fairness Act can reflect what we truly expect from the online environment.

International Visegrad Fund

How can we better represent consumers in a changing world? Supported by the International Visegrad Fund, in March 2026 we organised an international training seminar in Bratislava together with our partners, bringing together lawyers, analysts, and representatives of consumer organisations and academia from Slovakia, Czechia, Hungary, and Georgia.

We focused on connecting expert knowledge with the practical functioning of legislation, as well as on communication with the media and policymakers.

Consumer forum

We have signed a long-term Memorandum of Cooperation with the Consumer forum, a Czech open non-profit platform promoting the communication between the public, civil society organisations, companies and the state. The forum connects organisations and companies active in the domestic market with the purpose of protecting the interests of Czech consumers, in particular, in areas such as retail, sharing economy, e-commerce, real estate and financial services.

Hungarian Association of Consumer Protectors

We have signed a long-term Memorandum of Cooperation with the Hungarian Association of Consumer Protectors (FOME), one of Hungary’s leading consumer organisations operating since 2003. The association carries out its activities along four strategically defined priorities: information and advice, education, scientific research, and law enforcement support. Since 2007, FOME has continuously operated consulting offices throughout the country, and from April 2011, they have operated the Financial Counseling Office Network in eleven county seats.

We have a long-term cooperation with the Research-Intellectual Club “Dialogue of Generations”. Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

In collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, we worked on a project aimed at debunking the most common disinformation and hoaxes in various fields, whether in the consumer environment or politics. At the institute, we realize that our place is in Europe – it is the European standards and institutions that guarantee strong consumer rights protection for Slovaks. Slovakia’s anchorage in the West represents stability, making us attractive in the eyes of investors and contributing to the influx of foreign capital.
